We work to build a learning environment in which every child is known, valued and celebrated. We are dedicated to our children their families and the Guilford community.
Guilford Central School is located in Southern Vermont. We are a small elementary school serving 130 children from Pre-K - sixth grade.
We are a Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS) school. Our PBIS structure provides a positive learning environment where children and community members are safe, kind, respectful, and responsible. We teach school wide expectations, provide consistent response to behaviors, and use data to inform our decisions regarding behavior support. We devote time to Morning Meetings, All School Meetings, and Sings, Mixed Age Groups, and to bi-weekly lessons in social-emotional learning using a research based curriculum, the Second Step program.
The Guilford Field to Forest program remains vital and vibrant. Our students regularly spend time working in our school gardens, as well as, cooking composting, and visiting local farms. From monthly taste tests of healthy, locally sourced foods that are prepared and served by students in every grade, to working on area farms to plant and harvest produce that are served in our cafeteria, our students are connected with Guilford's farming heritage.
Please feel free to call, 802-254-2271 to set up an appointment to come visit our wonderful school.
